The Partnership intends to invest primarily in publicly listed securities in a concentrated group of companies. These companies will typically be run by a strong management team that has a significant ownership stake in the companies they run and will also be characterised as having a track record of earning high returns on shareholders equity. The companies will also be capable of generating high returns on equity for many years to come without the addition of significant amounts of equity capital other than that which is being generated internally. The manager will focus on investing in companies that have a return on equity (ROE) that is substantially higher than its cost of equity. ROE is used as a general indication of the company’s efficiency, more specifically, how much profit it is able to generate given the resources provided by its stockholders. Cost of equity involves evaluation a security by examining the company, especially its operations and financial condition, and involves other valuation methods and financial ratios.
